Quick Look

Dove sable is the pink-eyed version of sable (p/p, instead of P/*). The pink eyed dilution doesn't that much dilute red pigment, which makes the dove sable has red parts as red as the sable has. The back, however, is quite a different thing altogether. Where the sable has "black cut into dark sepia" as the colour of shading, the dove sable has a somewhat diluted dove.

Dove sables can have quite light shadings, but not necessarily so. Doves and dove tans have a wide variety of depth in colour and by using the darkest specimens available, it is possible to get shadings matching the colour of dove (tan).
